NORTH END. Billed as a "boutique" Italian eatery, this North Ender caters to a young, trendy and professional brand of clientele that doesn't mind shelling out a few duckets for a stylishly authentic setting and superbly done regional dishes like tagliatelle al caffe, venison saddle scented with juniper, or gnocchi with wild boar bolognese. Also popular with night owls looking for a good bite, Bricco features a cool lounge area where wood-oven pizzas are available until 2am.

CAMBRIDGE. Tired of the same old pizza? Head to Emma's, where you're sure to find anything but the usual. Emma's serves piping hot creations with paper-thin crusts and fanciful toppings that render pepperoni and mushrooms passé. Try a pie graced with goat cheese, hot pepper, prosciutto, and Tuscan rosemary sauce, or go for a fresh salad adorned with homemade dressing. Sandwiches also have their share of fans.

NORTH END. This lunch-only Italian eatery, located in the North End, enjoys more than its share of popularity among area business types, as the long lines will no doubt attest. Don't fret, the line moves much faster than you might expect. The reason for the restaurant's popularity is two-fold: the Italian food is tremendous, and the prices are among the most reasonable in town. Try one of their excellent calzones (the spinach is best) or, if you're really hungry, their hand-tossed pizzas which are always a winner.

NORTH END. This restaurant is named for a town in the Abruzzi region of Italy, the homeplace of the chef/owner's grandmother. The menu at this Italian dining room holds treasures you're sure to appreciate-roasted halibut, leg of lamb, corn ravioli, and more. The Prezza staff outdo themselves as they knowledgeably present menu options and assist with wine selections. The dessert menu is a must-do; in fact, some call the desserts works of art!

CAMBRIDGE. Rustic Kitchen consistently creates delicious Mediterranean meals for local fans who favor simple, savory dishes. Panini, flatbreads, rustic pizzas, tasty soups, and pastas all prove eminently appealing. Plus, the menu is diverse enough (lamb, beef, seafood, and vegetable dishes) that everyone is sure to find a satisfying dish. Warm tones, a central fireplace, and soft banners accentuate the open dining area.
